project 1 is coming up
I love song lyrics, so I think somehow I want to make some lyrics into visual text. There are a couple songs that I feel really defined my summer so I'm going to try and use one of those. I had internships that really changed my life forever, and I love reflecting on them, so I think it would be best for me to show this visually as well.
Now it's just a matter of figuring out how I will do it visually.. I love photography.. I also like bright and vibrant colors.. so somehow those will definitely be involved throughout my project..
update.
After looking at the practice pictures we just made, I definitely want to use one of the songs that I enjoy. I will probably just illustrate the chorus of the song, which is called "One Step At A Time." I plan on using a variety of graphics, pictures, and colors, and simulating steps throughout the page.. Hopefully it'll work out the way I imagine it in my head. :)

This sounds like a great idea, and it is the absolute truth that the most difficult thing will be to make what you see in your head to be similar to the final project. Are you going to stick with power point, or use more robust software like photoshop? Will sound be involved along with it so you can hear the chorus as you visually see it? Anyway, it sounds like an excellent idea for a project and hopefully it will turn out how you see it in your mind's eye.
Hi Bethany. Definitely, if you relate strongly to song lyrics, use them. Choose on set of lyrics, perhaps not even the whole song. Thing about what to do with the words - typography, color, position, repetition, etc. Use any pictures you want. You could draw them or find them on the web, they can be representational or abstract, etc. But think of the images not so much as illustrating but as interacting. They add to and communicate, comment on and respond with, the text. Think of the "arrangement" described by Gomringer: the user participates in understanding and working through the piece.
